Book of Evidence to be served in fatal car collision in Thurles later this year

The case of the Laois man accused of dangerous driving causing the death of Adam Kirwan has been adjourned to later this year.

Sean Fitzpatrick (21) of Killpurcell, Ballybrophy, county Laois is charged with dangerous driving at College Green, Monakeeba, Thurles on March 2, 2023.

The defendant was before Thurles District Court this week, where the Book of Evidence was expected to be served.

However, Sgt Tom Hanrahan, of Thurles Garda Station told the court it was not yet ready and made an application, which the court granted, to adjourn the case to September 3, 2024.

Hurler and Mary I student Adam Kirwan died in the single car collision in Thurles last year.
