Cabragh Wetlands has been awarded more than €20,000 in funding
A Tipperary project has been awarded funding under the Peatlands and Natura Community Engagement Scheme, which aims to support conservation work on peatlands across the country,
Cabra Wetlands has been awarded €22,910 in funding for their project, Practical Reponses to Climate Change.
Cabra Wetlands, based outside Thurles, provides a sanctuary for a vast collection of plant and animal species.

The funding allocation has been welcomed by North Tipperary TD Michael Lowry, who said that the facility is hugely important to the local community.
"The protection and ongoing restoration of this area of natural beauty are of huge importance to local people, who work tirelessly to ensure the preservation of this beautiful natural habitat," Deputy Lowry said.
Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage James Browne said: "Community and voluntary groups play a vital role in conserving nature and heritage around the country. Funding provided through the scheme will support these groups to engage their own communities in their conservation efforts and protect their natural heritage for future generations.

"I am really impressed with the diversity of projects and wish them well with their work," Minister Browne added.
