Thurles is gearing up for a major community fundraising effort with a Monster Scrap Metal Collection taking place at Thurles Mart on Friday, August 29th and Saturday, August 30th, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Organisers will be accepting all types of scrap metal to help raise money for the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles Reroofing Fund. However, household electrical appliances such as washing machines will not be accepted.

A collection service will be available for those unable to deliver items themselves. Community members wishing to arrange a pickup or seeking more details can contact Phil at 087 2420074.

Donations of all scrap metal are greatly appreciated, with every contribution helping to preserve one of Thurles’s most iconic landmarks.
