Tipperary-based artist set to launch new archive based on Tipperary

The Source Arts Centre, Thurles

Tipperary artist Annie Hogg is launching a new work based on social engagement.

The project has been created through collaboration with four county wide groups: Thurles Men's Shed, Presentation Convent Clonmel, Borrisokane Men's Shed, and Fethard ICA Guild.

The project is called ‘A Collection of Things Nearly Forgotten - an archive of memories from County Tipperary.’

Together, the groups have compiled and created a snapshot of a whole host of techniques, expressions and similar, which were familiar not so long ago in the daily lives of people living here in Tipperary.

They turned this collection into a booklet and an accompanying radio show.

Annie and the groups will be launching this project on Tuesday, September 23, in the Thurles Library, between 6pm and 7pm.

Copies of the booklet will be held in each of the county libraries after the launch date, and also contain QR Codes as direct links to each of the four audios, allowing continuous access.
