Liam MacCarthy cup pays visit to local Tipperary Residents Association

The Moyne Road and Bellevue Residents Association held their AGM and mass to remember deceased residents in Thurles Order of Malta last week.

The following were returned as officers for the coming year: Tommy Barrett as Chairperson, Peter Bolger as Secretary, and Michael Brett as Treasurer.

A mass to remember deceased residents was held after the AGM, and was celebrated by Fr Martin Mareja.

Framed pictures were displayed of residents who have passed away.

A presentation was made by Olive Collins to Marianne Dwyer and Ann Marie Dwan to thank them both for performing beautiful music and hymns during the mass.

Organisers say it was lovely to see so many residents in attendance on the evening.

The committee also wish to thank Debbie Hickey for taking pictures throughout the event.

The Cashel Palace Hotel were also acknowledged on the night for sponsoring Afternoon tea for two and this fantastic prize was won by Richie Ryan.

Special guests on the evening were Tipperary U20 All-Ireland winner Cillian Minogue, and Ray McCormack who brought along the Liam McCarthy Cup.

Tommy Barrett congratulated Cillian and Ray on their success throughout the year.

A presentation was made to the players with gifts sponsored by Moran’s Menswear and Mycro Sports.

Ray McCormack also won an Ireland football jersey signed by Irish soccer player Jayson Molumby, who has strong links to Thurles.

Those in attendance on the night say it was an enjoyable evening.
