RIP: Tributes paid to Tipperary grandmother and former teacher following sad passing

The death has occurred of Kathleen (Kathlyn) Feehan, née Moloney, late of Highfield Court, Mathew Avenue, Wolfe Tone Place and Butler Avenue, Thurles, Co Tipperary.

She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She is predeceased by her devoted husband Noel, sisters Maura, Anna, Teresa and Angela, brothers Billy, Larry, Lowry, Noel, Joe and Judge.

She will be sadly missed by her loving children Bryan, Jimmy, Breda, Sarah and Anna, son-in-law Damien Byrne, daughter-in-law Ann Scanlon, Alan, Gordo, grandchildren Rory, Darragh, Emer, Lara, Ace (Aoife), Andrew and Kate.

She is fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Brendan Feehan, sisters-in-law Eithne, Peggy, Rose and Madeline, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours, dear friends Mary Guilfoyle, Mary Hayes and Maura Purcell, teaching colleagues throughout the years and friends in Thurles Musical Society.

May she rest in peace.

She will lay in repose in Hugh Ryan's Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Tuesday, February 3, from 5pm to 7pm.

She will arrive at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles on Wednesday, February 4, at 10:30am for Requiem Mass at 11am.

Burial will take place afterwards in St Patrick's Cemetery, Thurles.

Tributes have been paid online to Kathleen, with one person saying: "Sincere sympathies to the Feehan and Moloney families on the passing of Kathleen. She was a great neighbour to have on Mathew Avenue over the years and will be sadly missed by one and all. May Kathleen's gentle soul rest in peace."

Another said: "Very sorry to hear of Kathleen's passing (Mrs Feehan). Consider myself very lucky to have had her as Muinteoir in the Presentation. She was a lady that could lead with calmness and ease. Anytime I was back in Thurles and met her, it was always with a warm smile and genuine interest. Condolences to her family and friends."
