The 300 strong all-performing Marching Mizzou Band from Missouri arrived in Tipperary Town on Saturday to a rapturous welcome from the thousands who had come to watch the Band and the town's St Patrick's Day Parade.
The rain was certainly no deterrent for either the participants or the crowd, who revelled in every moment of the performance from the Marching Mizzou.
Dr. Amy A Knopps, the Director of Marching Mizzou said that they were thrilled to be in Tipperary Town to help celebrate St Patrick's Day.
"At the University of Missouri our fight song is called 'Every True Son' and is to the tune of 'It's a Long Way to Tipperary'.
"We have come a long way to share our MIZZ with IRE and I would like to wish you all a very happy St Patrick's Day," concluded Dr Knopps.
The Marching Mizzou wasn't the only Band performing as the Parade was led by the town's C.J. Kickham Band. Both bands performed 'It's a Long Way to Tipperary' on the town's Main Street before the event concluded.
The Parade was full of flags and colour as the sporting clubs from the area turned out in great numbers as did a number of other organisations.
One of the guests of honour on the reviewing stand was autism campaigner, Cara Darmody along with the Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District, Cllr Declan Burgess.
