A Tipperary fundraising competition raised over €2,000 for a worthy cause at the weekend.
A social hurling tournament was held in Tipperary Town on Saturday afternoon in a bid to raise money for the Meals on Wheels service in the town, which had to replace the engine in their van to keep the service on the road.
The social hurling competition raised €2,500 for the local group, who were aiming to raise €6,700 to cover the cost of a new engine for the van.

The Tipperary Town branch of Meals on Wheels delivers around 120 meals each day to people within a 10km catchment area of the west Tipperary town.
In a post on social media, organisers of the fundraising competition paid tribute to those who made the event possible.
"A huge thank you to all who have helped us and donated at this point. A big thank you to Billy Ryan for organising this event yesterday," the post read.

"Equally thank you to Darren at The Carvery Restaurant for sponsoring all the disposable cups and Tom Ryan at Value Centre Cash n Carry for the bottled water."
A GoFundMe page for the fundraising is still open and will remain open for donations for another few weeks, the organisers said, with a total of €1,545 raised so far. Anyone who wishes to donate can do so here.
