Tipperary Musical Society’s Derek Ryan took to the field in front of thousands at Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Thursday evening

A huge congratulations was expressed to Tipperary Musical Society’s very own Derek Ryan, who received the honour of being invited to perform The Star Spangled Banner at Thursday evening’s NFL game between the Green Bay Packers and the Carolina Panthers at Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Clonoulty native is a bass-baritone, and a long-term, multi-award winning performer with the musical society.

Derek travelled Stateside with his wife Deirdre, who is also an award-winning and long-term member of the society, and their twin sons Luke and Matthew.

The Green Bay Packers beat the Carolina Panthers 27-19, for those Tipperary fans that were wondering.
