There was no Sunday lunch at a popular Tipperary restaurant due to a power outage and cars are being abandoned in Clonmel.

Cllr David Dunne said: "Conditions around Clonmel treacherous. Cars have been abandoned attempting to get up Slievenamon Road. Expected to freeze later which will make things more difficult. Please only travel if you need to."

Meanwhile, O'Gorman's Holycross said: "No food service on Sunday due to power outage which is reported not to be back until 6pm. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding."

Sunday lunch was the only thing impacted, on Saturday evening, they said: "Due to weather warning for this Saturday evening, John's 60th is cancelled."

Fethard Daycare Centre will also remain closed on Monday due to the severe weather.
