Monitor Met Éireann forecasts regularly via www.met.ie, the Met Éireann App, and official social media channels (@meteireann).
Met Éireann is advising that people:
- Allow extra time for your Tuesday morning commute and reduce speed on all routes;
- Strong winds will make driving hazardous, particularly for vulnerable road users such as cyclists, pedestrians, motorcyclists, and high-sided vehicles;
- Be alert to fallen trees and flying debris;
- Do not drive through floodwater—turn back and find an alternative route;
- Stay away from swollen rivers, streams, and flooded riverbanks. Banks can collapse without warning, and water levels and currents may be far stronger than usual;
They are also advising that you check in with neighbours, older people, or anyone who may need assistance, and ensure your mobile phone is fully charged to maintain communication.
Met Éireann has provided a list of contact information that people may find beneficial during this time.
