Carrick-on-Suir Town Park’s footpaths were transformed into a giant art canvas for children last Saturday afernoon.
More than 60 young artists took advantage of the glorious weather to enter the Art in the Park contest run as part of Carrick Lions Club’s family fun weekend in the town.
The following day, 80 families took part in the Lions Club family cycle from Carrick Library to Faugheen where they enjoyed ice cream and refreshments before pedaling back to town.
Lions Club Vice-President John Butler said the Club was delighted with the huge turnout for both events.
“What we are trying to do is get out into the community by organising free events such as this,”
The Lions Club also celebrated it annual Mass for deceased club members at St Nicholas Church in Carrick last Saturday night.
