The blue and gold of the Premier County’s hurlers adorned housing estates and homes throughout Carrick-on-Suir for the All-Ireland last weekend.
Local photographer Tom Grace toured Carrick before and after the big match and captured some of the colourful displays of the county colours and the town’s staunch Tipp supporters.
One of his photos that we publish here is of a group of Treacy Park residents setting up a gazebo for a post-hurling final community party in the estate. Another shows Tommy Waters, who played for the great Carrick Davins team of the 1960s. There is also Treacy Park native Richard Robinson proudly flying the Tipp flag across the river in Carrickbeg and several generations of the Power family of O’Mahoney enjoying the sun after the match.
