RIP: Co. Tipperary man wishes for people to 'wear something colourful' to his funeral

Tributes have been paid to man from Tipperary who passed away on January 13 after a "short illness bravely fought". 

Marcus McMahon was from Garrykennedy, Portroe, county Tipperary, and was surrounded by his dear family at the time of his passing.

He was the beloved husband of Janie, cherished father of Marcus, Jason and Shelly, step-father to Jamie and Anna, brother to Jane and James (predeceased), father in law to Marco, Karnie and Jasmine, devoted grandfather to Tova, Lara, Eden, Daniel, Freddie, Andrea and Charlie. Missed dearly by his nieces, nephews and many friends.

A tribute was paid on rip.ie to Mr McMahon which read: 

"Please accept me and my family's sincerest condolences on your great loss Janie and the McMahon family, I will miss our chats and banter on rugby and world affairs he will be sorely missed by us. He was a lovely person ! Requiescat en Pace."

Another read: "We wish to convey our DEEPEST Condolences To his wife Janie & family To his sister Jane & extended family. We are thinking of you all at this sad time May Marcus soul rest in peace."

Another person wrote:  "Sincere condolences to his wife and to his immediate and extended family members, to his good friends and to all who knew and cared for Marcus.

"May his soul rest in eternal peace."

Funeral Arrangements: 

Mr McMahon requested people attending his funeral to wear something colourful.

Reposing at Ryan's Funeral Home, Silver Street, Nenagh (E45 KN93) on Sunday 19th January from 3-5pm.

Funeral Mass on Monday 20th January in St Mary's Church Portroe at 12pm.

Burial afterwards in Garrykennedy Cemetery. The Mass can be viewed online in the link here.
