A planning application has been lodged with Tipperary County Council hoping to change the use of a protected structure in Tipperary from a parochial hall into a commercial unit and four new apartments.

The application relates to the redevelopment of Cappawhite Parochial Hall, a recorded protected structure located on Main Street, Cappawhite, Tipperary.

The proposed development includes a small commercial hairdressing unit at ground floor level (19 sq.m), along with two two-bedroom apartments at ground floor level and two two-bedroom apartments at first floor level.

The works will include the conservation of the structure generally, including the repair of surviving original elements and all associated site works on and under land, with no elevational changes to the protected structure also.

Tipperary County Council is scheduled to make a decision on the proposal by May 19 2026.
