Tipperary GAA Convention unanimously adopted a proposal from Central Council representative, John Costigan of JK Brackens, congratulating Kilkenny’s Henry Shefflin on winning his ninth senior hurling All-Ireland medal in September.
Mr Costigan said that they had all lauded the achievements of Tipperary’s John Doyle and Cork’s Christy Ring, who won eight All-Irelands, and who were legends of the game.
He felt it was only proper that Tipperary should salute Henry Shefflin’s winning of his ninth medal this year, a marvellous achievement by a wonderful player.
Sean Nugent, chairman of the board, said he fully supported the proposal and on behalf of the board and Tipperary hurling followers congratulated Henry Shefflin on†a great achievementâ€.
