Holycross Ballycahill GAA was one of just four clubs across Ireland to receive €5,000 through the new Guaranteed Irish community initiative

Holycross Ballycahill GAA has received a €5,000 boost after being named as one of four winners of a new nationwide Guaranteed Irish community campaign.

The Tipperary club was nominated by Thurles-based Duggan Veterinary as part of the ‘Are You in the Guaranteed Irish Club?’ initiative, which recognised businesses for their contribution to local GAA clubs and communities.

Duggan Veterinary and Holycross Ballycahill were selected among four winning partnerships nationwide, securing €5,000 for the club.

The initiative invited Guaranteed Irish member businesses with links to a local GAA club, team or county to highlight the contribution they make to their communities both on and off the pitch.

As well as the €5,000 award, Holycross Ballycahill received a personalised jersey for a junior team at an exclusive photocall held at Croke Park on Wednesday, September 9.

The other successful partnerships were National Broadband Ireland and Raheens GAA in Kildare, Ella & Jo and Ballyhaunis LGFA in Mayo, and Briody Bedding and St Brigid’s GAA in Meath.

A total of €20,000 was awarded to the four clubs through the initiative.

Guaranteed Irish CEO Brid O'Connell said the campaign was designed to recognise member businesses which go beyond their day-to-day operations to support their local areas.
