Three Tipperary riders helped Ireland to podium finishes at the FEI Youth Nations Cup Finals at Peelbergen in The Netherlands, with Charlie Flynn, Alice Wachman and Bríd Ryan all playing their part in a hugely successful weekend for the Irish teams.

Flynn enjoyed the biggest success of the Tipperary contingent as he helped the Irish Pony team to a brilliant victory in their final on Sunday.

Riding Hk Zena, Flynn was part of an Irish quartet alongside Kilkenny's Robbie Sheehan on Daytona, Limerick's Jack Dore on K-Little Hero and Sligo's Ella Rush on Galaxy V.

Ireland were the only team to finish the competition on a zero score, securing victory ahead of hosts The Netherlands, who finished second on four faults, with Britain taking third place.

There was also a place on the podium for Tipperary's Alice Wachman as the Irish Young Rider team finished third in their final.

Wachman, riding Killarney, lined out alongside Kilkenny pair Eoin Brennan on Augustus Z and Billy Sinnott on Macgyver, along with Clare's Coen Williams on Dominante Z.

Ireland completed the competition on eight faults to secure third place, with Sweden taking victory on a zero score and France finishing as runners-up.

Tipperary's Bríd Ryan completed a hat-trick of podium appearances for the county when she helped the Irish Junior Show Jumping team to a third-place finish.

Ryan partnered Cariati d'Elsendam Z as Ireland finished on six faults following a particularly tight competition.

She was joined on the team by Kilkenny's Isobel Sheehan on Athea Clover Trend, Wexford's Annie Boland on Calisto Blanc and Westmeath's James Derwin on Amos L Z.

Belgium claimed victory on four faults, with Switzerland finishing just behind on five and Ireland completing the podium on six.

The performances of Flynn, Wachman and Ryan contributed to an excellent showing from Ireland at the international event, with all three Irish teams featuring Tipperary riders going on to secure podium finishes.
