Love Island new girls arrive and panic spreads in the villa

Love Island continues on 3e on Wednesday at 9pm and it’s very much a case of five’s company, seven’s a crowd for the ladies of the villa when a surprise text announces some unexpected new arrivals in the shape of sexy singletons Georgia and Rosie.

Suspicions quickly begin to mount amongst the five original females - Dani, Samira, Laura, Kendall and Hayley - that one of them is soon to get the boot when they learn that their two love rivals are on their way.

“Boys, tonight two new girls will enter the villa and you will host welcome drinks #fixuplooksharp #gamechangers."

Samira is concerned that her lack of chemistry with Alex could leave her place in the villa in jeopardy. “I’m like, this is a game, this has to happen, but I’m a bit worried about my place here now.”

Dani and Hayley are also feeling apprehensive, with Dani stating: “I feel like we’re so vulnerable. I’m not going to worry because if this is my last few days in here at least I’ve enjoyed myself.”

Hayley also admits: “I’m in a very vulnerable situation right now.”

As Georgia and Rosie walk in and meet the boys, the girls watch on from the upstairs terrace, less than impressed at the activity going on beneath them, as Samira proclaims “I don’t like this at all” and Dani declares “I feel like I’m watching my boyfriend cheat on me.”

The situation worsens when they overhear Georgia announce she is a drama student, with Samira fuming: “Now I feel jealous, I feel weird. I hope she wasn’t on the West End.”

It appears Georgia has quickly ruffled the other girls’ feathers as Samira continues: “She’s ballsy. She would nick your man. She would take him from your table and buy him a drink.”

The boys, however, are more optimistic about the sudden developments in the villa, none more so than Alex, who feels the new arrivals could prompt a U-turn after his recent romantic woes: “From the start I’ve had a fairly rough ride. I’d like to think I deserve a break and a bit of good luck and meet a nice girl.”

Niall, meanwhile, is hoping the new girls cause shockwaves. “What I hope is for drama, I hope it goes off, I hope all the girls lose their heads and things just get a bit lively in here.”

As the girls get to know the six guys, two texts arrive, following a public vote to determine which two boys have won dates with the new girls – is Dr Alex’s luck about to change?

Dani is reeling from the revelations that Jack has cheated on all of his previous girlfriends, and with Jack’s relationship history now playing on her mind, she begins to question whether any romantic prospects between them have hit a dead end.

Chatting in the garden, Jack is anxious that Dani’s mood has changed in the hours since the challenge. During a one on one, he asks: “You don’t think any less of me do you? Be honest though because I hated that. It’s not a good look is it?”

Dani responds: “No, obviously. Initially I just thought ‘have I just gone for the same type that I always go for?’ It just threw me off a little bit.”

As the conversation continues, Dani admits the revelations haven’t sat well with her. “I like you as a person, we’ve been getting on and stuff. It’s not a problem. I don’t think I have a problem with you about it because nothing’s going on yet. It just threw me off a little bit. Obviously it’s just a little bit…It makes me think ‘I’ve gone for the same geezer that all my mates say ‘Dan don’t!’ You’ve got to understand that.”

Jack then picks up on Dani’s suggestion that her friends would warn her to steer clear of him: “You know your mates. Do you think they’ll be saying that now? Be honest. Would they be going ‘ah, she’s done it again’.”

Dani bluntly admits: “Probably. I’m going to be honest with you. I’m not going to sit here and go ‘no not at all’ because that’s what I always do.”

In the Beach Hut, Jack still has higher hopes for their fortunes as a couple. “If me and Dani did give it a little bit of a chance, I think it would be worth it. I’m going to just carry on how we are and I think me and Dani will be sweet, I think we’ll be alright.”

With uncertainties about Jack lingering, Dani sleeps on the situation, but when morning comes it seems she’s reaching an unfortunate conclusion, as she once again confides in the other girls. “I spoke to Jack last night and obviously I could never judge someone by their past because I’m not like that. Realistically, if I was on the outside world and my mates went ‘listen Dan, he’s cheated on his girlfriend’ that would be an off-put for me.”

Deciding that she needs a frank conversation with Jack, she explains her feelings towards him. “I’ve got to talk to Jack later. I just don’t get butterflies around him. He’s a lovely looking lad and he’s very funny, and any other girl would be lucky to have that. But not me because I’ve had that. I do feel ready to find something new and that’s what it is. New and fresh, not used.”

Is the barmaid about to call time on Jack or can he convince her his cheating ways are behind him?

After an initial set back owing to Laura having feelings for Adam, Wes and Laura are beginning to move in the right direction. During a conversation with Samira, Laura reveals the increasing intimacy with Wes has left her excited about where things could be heading: “When we were all sat by the fire pit last night he put his arm around me. And I liked it. Then in my head I thought ‘I do fancy him’.  And then I thought straight away ‘I wonder if tonight in bed we might have a little spoon. And then I thought ‘right, don’t get carried away’.”

Elaborating on their evening together, Laura continues: “So then when we got into bed, I did kind of turn around, but I kind of sleep like that anyway. I thought ‘we’ll kind of see what he does.  And then he did proper come in and spoon me, and I liked it. And then he held my hands. And then we fell asleep like that.”

Disclosing her true feelings towards Wes in the Beach Hut, Laura adds: “He’s so cute and affectionate and that’s what I really like, and he’s always hugging me when I’m cold. And it’s like little things isn’t it. It’s just caring, and you need that when you’re in here. And I kind of, oh God this is so cringe, but I can’t wait to get into bed and have a little snuggle and fall asleep. Like, I genuinely do want to do that.”

With Wes still unconvinced about Laura’s commitment towards him in light of her attraction to Adam, it falls to Dani to reassure him. “She’s genuine about it. She was noticing things about you. And I thought ‘you don’t notice those things unless you like someone’.”

The news is music to Wes’ ears, as he declares: “Dani started to reassure me saying that Laura had spoken to her and said she liked me and that’s a nice thing, it made me feel all warm inside.”

Later, as he and Laura share a clandestine moment together, Wes comes clean about the extent of his feelings towards her. “If you didn’t step forward would I have chosen you? God’s honest truth, yeah I would. You’ve ticked every box. I’m not just saying that as well. Your eyes are daft. They are daft. Your personality, you’re so sweet. It’s hard to find someone genuine and nice.”

Laura affectionately retorts: “You’re so cute. I feel the same. I’m happy.”

With that, the pair share a passionate embrace on the bed. Wes then reflects on his prospects with Laura while in the Beach Hut: “I’m feeling really good about Laura, and I think she’s in the same boat as me. We’ve finally agreed we’re on the same page. I think it’s going to progress gradually and hopefully goes into something that’s long term.”

But with two new girls just around the corner, is Wes about to have a sudden change of heart? As the boys discuss their hopes for the new arrivals, Wes asserts: “We’re on Love Island, not Loyalty Island. We’re here to find the girl of our dreams, not to stick with the girl that we’ve been partnered with from the start, that’s the point of it.”

After rejection at the first coupling up and having been snubbed by Hayley during the challenge yesterday, Alex is feeling downbeat and begins to question his long-term future in the villa. “I think if it came to recoupling, I am on borrowed time at the moment. I think my place on the island is definitely at risk. It’s frustrating because I don’t think I’ve had the chance yet.”

Speaking to Samira in the garden, Alex discusses the awkward situation with Hayley during the challenge. “I was a little bit gutted I think, because I was like ‘I’ll go with whoever, just go with it in the moment’ and I just thought ‘right, I’m going to kiss Hayley’. Everyone’s watching as well, and it’s like another knock. I’ll pick myself up again and I’m just hoping that I’ll meet someone. But I do feel that I’m getting to know everyone a bit more.”

With his frustrations beginning to show, Alex admits “I just want to show everyone inside and outside that I’ve got something to offer here.”

Sympathising with Alex’s predicament, Samira reveals that, while she’s keen to get to know Alex further, he’s still not ticking her boxes. “I’m annoyed at myself. It’s such a shame that I’m not attracted to him or that I don’t have this connection with him because he would be a lovely guy to couple up with, with the intention of being in a relationship, but I guess I’m the kind of person where I know what I want and at the minute he’s not what I want, but this is why I want to get to know him.”

Alex’s mood is quickly lifted when he hears about the villa’s impending new arrivals. Hoping that this will be the change in fortune he needs, he announces: “My wife’s coming in. Wife and mother of my children. You never know.”

With the girls just moments away, Alex admits he’s desperate for one of them to catch his eye. “We’re all really excited, there’s a real buzz around the boys. For me, obviously I feel really good that this is an opportunity to meet some new girls and someone that could be my type.”

Is a change on the horizon for the deflated doctor?

Having spent a number of days trying to find a way forward with Hayley, Eyal is beginning to lose faith in his current Love Island coupling.

Approaching Hayley in the garden, Eyal admits he’s finding their lack of conversation and common interests frustrating. “The past few days I felt like I’ve tried as much as I can to talk to you and find out about you. I don’t really feel like it’s been reciprocated. I feel like I’m giving as much as I can but I’m not really getting anything back.”

Eager to extract herself from the awkward conversation, Hayley responds: “Maybe that’s what it is. I don’t want to feel like it’s got to go somewhere, do you know what I mean? I’ve just been overthinking it.”

Confronting the issue further, Eyal continues: “100%, but friends chat to each other and ask each other questions and reciprocate. If I ask you something then maybe ask something back.”

Seeking counsel with Niall, Eyal declares: “I really don’t know what’s going on with Hayley. The past few days I’ve tried to talk to her as much as I can. And just try and gauge where she’s at but she really hasn’t given me much back. She hasn’t really tried to chat to me or really get to know me. I’m trying to give signals but I don’t want to be too full on. We haven’t even had a cuddle.”

It looks like Georgia and Rosie’s entrance could come at the most opportune moment for Eyal, whose spirits are quickly lifted by the news that the twosome are en route. “This is great, it is exactly what I need. I’m a bit fed up with my situation and with my couple at the moment.”

Will it be a case of second time lucky for Eyal and has Hayley’s dismissive attitude just put her in a risky position?
