Parts of Clonmel will be without water today

Residents and businesses in Clonmel are being made warned about a planned water outage which will impact the town later today (Thursday, April 10).

Uisce Éireann have said that there will be a planned supply interruption for those supplied by the Glenary Water Treatment Plant, as a result of works to upgrade the plant, from 1pm to 4pm this afternoon.

The works involve water mains repair which will necessitate a temporary interruption to supply, Uisce Éireann have said.

Those in the Kilmacomma, Irish Town, Western Road, Cherrymount, Elm Park, Haywood Road, Roaring Springs, Cascade Road, Old Bridge and Old Dungarvan Road and the surrounding areas may experience reduced water pressure, and, in some areas an interruption to supply.

Uisce Éireann's Programme Manager, John Hickey said: "Every effort will be made to reduce the impact of these works on homes and businesses in the area. The upgrade to Glenary Water Treatment Plant will help protect the reliability of the supply to the local community into the future.

"We understand the impact low pressure and supply disruption can have on customers and would like to thank the local community for their patience and cooperation during the works," Mr Hickey added.
