Grammy award winning singer added to line-up at world-famous Irish festival

A Grammy award winning singer has been named as a headliner at a world-famous Irish festival.

Púca Festival today (July 4, 2023) confirmed R&B and soul singer Macy Gray - known for her distinctive raspy voice and soulful delivery - as part of the line-up.

Gray rose to fame with her debut album 'On How Life Is' in 1999 with the album's single 'I Try' earning her a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best New Artist.

Púca Festival - taking place in festival hubs Trim and Athboy in Co Meath from Friday October 27 to October 31 - celebrates Ireland as the birthplace of Halloween.

Working in partnership with Irish and international artists, seanchaí storytellers and the local community, Púca will showcase the best in contemporary Irish music, spectacle, and performance over four days and five nights in Ireland’s Ancient East.

Tickets to Macy Gray’s performance will go on sale on Friday July 7 at 9am.

The seated show will take place in the Knightsbrook Hotel on Saturday October 28 at 8pm, with tickets costing €40 plus booking fee.

Púca Festival also welcomes Niall ‘Bressie’ Breslin with his podcast 'Where is My Mind? Live'.

The podcast delves into the complexities of the human mind, exploring strategies to navigate the modern world's blend of beauty and chaos.

Other confirmed acts include The Waterboys, The Charlatans, Damien Dempsey, Sharon Shannon, Hot House Flowers, and The High Kings.

In addition to a regular bus running between Trim and Athboy, a number of extra transport services will be added to bring visitors from Dublin, Drogheda, Navan, Mullingar and Kells to the festival.

More performers will be announced in the coming months.
