Note: Saltburn spoilers ahead

A Saltburn film scene featuring Irish actor Barry Keoghan has gone viral on social media as TikTok users attempt to re-create it.

Directed by Oscar-winning screenwriter Emerald Fennell, Saltburn's story follows Oliver Quick (Keoghan) as he befriends the charming and ultra-rich Felix Catton (Euphoria's Jacob Elordi) and spends the summer at his family's sprawling estate.

The film's final scene - which shows Oliver dancing naked around the Saltburn Estate to the tune of Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 'Murder on the Dancefloor' - captured the attention of TikTok users around the world, who have flooded the app with their version of the scene set in their own homes.

However, the vast majority of people participating in the trend do not go as far as replicating the nudity.

According to the Independent, Keoghan told Entertainment Weekly he was initially hesitant about filming the nude scenes.

He reportedly said, "I'm a bit, ehhh. But after take one, I was ready to go. I was like, ‘Let’s go again. Let’s go again.’ You kind of forget, because there’s such a comfortable environment created, and it gives you that license to go, 'All right, this is about the story now.'

"It’s ownership. This is my place. It’s full confidence in, 'I can do what I want in this manor. I can strip to my barest and waltz around because this is mine.' Yeah… it was fun."

The popularity of the TikTok trend has resulted in renewed interest in Ellis-Bextor's 2001 hit, and it is now set to re-enter the 40 UK singles chart for the first time in 22 years, according to the Official Charts Company.

In a video posted on New Year's Eve, Ellis-Bextor recreated the iconic Saltburn scene by dancing in what appears to be a stairwell to the sound of her own song.

Captioning the video, she wrote, "Happy New Year, chickadees! Here's to fun and frolics in 2024."

She also acknowledged the spike in all-time streams (237,474,755 on Spotify at time of writing), with almost a million streams on December 29, 2023 alone.

Posting about the news on her Instagram page, she stated, "Oh wow... thank you!"
