A documentary on the history of Irish nuns is set to premiere tonight (Tuesday December 16).
Journalist and broadcaster, Dearbhail McDonald, examines the role of nuns in Ireland to see how they have shaped Irish lives, including her own, for better or for worse.

The clip shows McDonald questioning what kind of Catholic she is or whether she is a Catholic at all.
She says, "I voted for marriage equality, I voted to repeal the eighth amendment. And I can't rationalise the church's position on women.
"Now I'm on a mission to find out is there still a place for [religious] women in contemporary life, and if not, what does that mean for them as well as us?"
