'I keep telling her Paudie is a nice man!' - Tipp Traitor opens up on explosive TV rivalry

Cahir native Eamon O'Keeffe says he cannot wait to meet up with Paudie for a pint next week

Eamon and Paudie were two of the original Traitors selected by Siobhán McSweeney for season 1 of the hit TV show on RTÉ

Cahir man Eamon O'Keeffe has become one of the most recognisable faces in Irish TV this year after an unforgettable stint as one of the murderous Traitors on the hit RTÉ adaptation of reality game show.

The Traitors Ireland has proved an undeniable hit, with more than 600,000 viewers tuning in to the first episode.

Fans of the show will be well acquainted with Eamon, who chose to hide his vocation as a guard in Tipperary, and retired prison officer from Limerick, Paudie Moloney.

Their fiery relationship and commitment from both to try and rid the other from the show at the roundtable banishments were a highlight of the first five episodes of the season.

Since Eamon's departure from the show, he spoke to the Tipperary Star and insists all the 'beef' with 68-year-old Paudie is just great television and nothing more.

"I can’t wait to have a pint with Paudie. There’s no beef there. I regret what I said on Uncloaked, I probably went a bit too over the top and was still in ‘castle mode’ and went a bit heavy on him to be fair."

He also revealed that his daughter, who was 'devastated' to see her dad eliminated from the TV show in the second week, still blames Paudie for her dad's demise!

"She keeps giving out about Paudie," Eamon chuckled when speaking about her daughter's obsession with the show.

"I keep having to tell her Paudie is a nice man."

Eamon and Paudie will reunite next week when the cast of The Traitors Ireland meet up for a viewing party of the final episode on Tuesday, September 23.
