Tipperary voters have their say in Local Elections

Voters in Tipperary are going to the polls today to elect 40 members of Tipperary County Council

There was a steady stream of people turning up to vote this morning in the  Local Elections in the Cahir Electoral Area. 

Bunscoil na Cathrach is the only polling station in the Cahir urban area and the good weather ensured there was a flow of people arriving after voting opened at 7am.

By midday, 10.2% of an electorate of 3,521 had cast their vote at the polling station.

There are four seats on to be won in the Cahir Local Electoral Area with ten candidates going for those seats.

Overall there are 70 candidates in Tipperary seeking to win one of the 40 seats on a newly elected Tipperary County Council.
