Tipperary Councillor Andy Moloney has been informed that contractors for the new car park surfacing and library upgrade works in Cahir will be appointed before mid December.
The works are due to begin in January 2025.
The car park is expected to be completed in time for St. Patrick's day. This will be greatly welcomed by the town considering the current struggles with car parking spaces and the anticipation of a busy tourist season next year.
Along with the new bus bays, the car park is expected to help circulate footfall around the town.
The upgrades to the library are said to be of the highest spec and will allow for the next phase of works on the old library to go to tender.
These works could possibly create over 50 jobs in the town centre when completed.
