BREAKING: Man (60s) killed in Tipperary crash as gardaí begin investigation

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a single-vehicle fatal road traffic collision on the N24 at Kilmoyler, Cahir, Co. Tipperary on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision, involving a car, at approximately 10.40am.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His body has been removed to Tipperary University Hospital and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently conducting an examination of the scene and the road remains closed. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10.30am and 11am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cahir Garda Station on (052) 7445630, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.

The latest fatality comes after the man who died in hospital after being found unresponsive in his vehicle on the Dublin Road in Nenagh on Wednesday night was named locally as John “Jaffa” Hogan.
