A social media furore is ongoing in Tipperary over an incident at a playground in Tipperary Town during the week.

A post first appeared with the above images on the Tipp Town community page with the a user saying: "Just wanted to warn parents that I was at the playground in the complex with the child (on Monday) and a child must of had an accident on top of the bigger climbing frame, so you're aware not to be letting your child up on it until it's cleaned."

The post about the playground, on the site of the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre, prompted huge backlash with many people hitting out at the parents of the child while others said it couldn't be a child's poop.

One asked: "Would the person with the child not at least clean up?"

Another user said: "That doesn't look like a child's poo, it looks like a dog's poo."

While another added: "I don’t think it was a small child that did that."

One member of the public said: "Was not a child, my brother was in the park, someone had a dog running around that's from a dog."

Another concerned resident said: "The playground should be locked until that is cleaned up and disinfected. Parents mightn’t know that is what is at the top of the slide and young children mightn’t be able to make parents aware."
