A wide range of careers as well as further education options were showcased at a careers fair at Carrick-on-Suir's Edmund Rice Secondary School before the Easter holiday break.

The fair at the all-boys school off Carrick’s Pill Road featured 20 exhibitors representing an eclectic mix of employers from local companies and industries as well as State employers such as An Garda Síochána and the Defence Forces.

Third level education and training colleges also had stands at the event that took place in the school hall on April 4.

April was a busy month for Edmund Rice Secondary School.

Its Parents Association hosted a successful Easter raffle fundraiser that raised a total of €2,007.90 while students involved in the school’s St Vincent de Paul group attended the charity’s Youth Day at the Radisson Blue Hotel in Limerick.

Meanwhile, a group of First Year students enjoyed a school trip to England where they attended a Manchester United versus Manchester City match at Old Trafford in Manchester, spent a day at Alton Towers Theme Park and toured Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium.
