Council proposes to temporarily close three roads for county Tipperary car race

Tipperary County Council is proposing to close three roads around Faugheen and near Carrick-on-Suir on Saturday, July 19 to facilitate the hosting of the Carrick Rally Sprint car race. 

The local authority has given notice of its intention to close the L-2601 at Faugheen From the Junction of  L-26014 at Newtown Lower to the Junction at L-6601; L-6601 at Ballinurra from the junction of L-2601 at Faugheen to the L-2605 at Cregg and the L-2605 at Cregg from the junction of L-6601 at Ballinurra to the junction L-2601 at Faugheen.

It's proposing to close these roads from 8.30am until 6.30pm on Saturday, July 19. 

Alternative routes will be marshalled and signposted on the day of the event. 

The Carrick Rally Sprint is the fifth round race in the nine-round South East Stages Motor Rally Championship, which comprises three tarmac round, four rally spring and two forestry events.
