A planning application has been officially submitted to Tipperary County Council by James Darren O'Connor for a major project in Tipperary which would be a wonderful addition to the county.
The proposed works - with a development address at New Street, Castle Street, Carrick-on-Suir - include the construction of a new lounge bar and six apartments.

The project comprises works at the New Street streetscape which would include the demolition of the existing lounge bar and toilets, followed by the construction of a new lounge bar and toilet facilities adjoining The Shebeen premises.
On the Castle Street streetscape it includes the construction of six one‑bedroom apartments—two on the ground floor, two on the first floor, and two on the second floor—also adjoining The Shebeen premises, along with all associated site works.

This application was officially submitted as a new application on August 11, 2025, with a council decision due by October 5.
