Two young Carrick-on-Suir women will walk the Camino in Spain next month to raise funds for the children of Gaza.
Cousins Sophie Quinlan and Teighan Quinlan will trek 113.5km from Sarria to Santiago de Compostella from September 21 to 26 to raise funds for medical and food aid for Palestinian children in the war torn region where a famine has been declared.

They stress they are fully paying for the trip to Spain themselves with all funds raised for their Camino for Palestinian Aid campaign going directly to the cause via the South East-Palestinian Solidarity Campaign.
Sophie and Teighan are pictured above and below with some of the large crowd of supporters who attended a Golden Oldies disco in aid of their fundraising campaign at the Old Mill Pub in Carrick on August 16.
The disco led by DJ Manso included a raffle.
It’s one of several fundraisers the two cousins organised over the summer that have so far raised about €3,000 for the children of Gaza.
