Community group promoting tourism in Tipperary's Lingaun Valley wins business award

The community group that promotes tourism in the Lingaun Valley in south Tipperary and south west Kilkenny, won the Volunteer Engagement Award at the Kilkenny Business Awards last Saturday night. 

Lingaun Valley Tourism won the prize at the Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce awards event for its work in providing guides on the free Lingaun Loop bus this summer. 

The free Lingaun Loop bus operated daily between May and the end of September transporting tourists and locals to key tourist spots in the Lingaun Valley ranging from the start of the hike to Slievenamon at Kilcash and the Ahenny High Crosses to the Knockroe Passage Tomb near Ahenny. 

The awards ceremony took place in Lyrath Estate Hotel.
