The Irish Cancer urgently needs our help to continuing providing vital services to cancer patients
Cashel, Dundrum and Golden Daffodil Day committee have appealed for support as they prepare to go all in on Daffodil Day, March 22nd, to raise vital funds and give hope to cancer patients.
On average, 42,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year in Ireland. The Irish Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day funds crucial support services for people affected by cancer as well as lifesaving cancer research. Members of the public can donate or purchase merchandise on the day, or simply buy a daffodil from local volunteers.
Public support is crucial according to Lucy Ryan the Coordinator in the Cashel area who urged locals to show their support on Daffodil Day.
“People of Cashel, Dundrum and Golden have always been generous in their support of Daffodil Day, but with more people requiring the Irish Cancer Society’s free support services than ever before, we need to ramp up our efforts to ensure they get the help they need.
“Not only will donations fund services like the Irish Cancer Society Transport Service and counselling, but also cancer research to help more people survive cancer. Please help us by volunteering to sell daffodils and merch, or simply by buying a daffodil on March 22nd,” Lucy said.
