WARNING: Hazardous driving conditions on one Tipperary road as 'raw sewage freezes'

Be advised!

There are extremely hazardous driving conditions on the Golden Road, Cashel, adjacent to the Caiseal Na Ri housing estate.

For the last two years, sewage and waste water has been leaking from a derelict site adjacent to the Caiseal Na Ri Estate.

Tipperary County Council and Irish Water have been contacted "numerous times" to get this issue resolved as it poses a serious threat to health of the local residents and the general public who use the "Kings Loop" walk in the area.

One resident said: "However, both agencies seem to pass the responsibility to the other and hence, no action has been taken since this problem arose.

"As a result of the freezing conditions Thursday night, the waste water/sewage has frozen and driving conditions have become treacherous in the area.

"The risk of a car loosing control and potentially striking a pedestrian using the footpath has increased dramatically. Please see attached photos taken which highlights the issues."
