Up Tipp! Cashel Community School welcomes Liam MacCarthy and All-Ireland U20 Cups

The Cashel Community School student and staff body were delighted to welcome their former students and Tipperary hurling success stories to the stage

On September 15, the entire Cashel Community School student and staff body proudly celebrated the arrival of the Liam MacCarthy Cup, along with the Munster and All-Ireland U20 cups.

The sports hall was awash in blue and gold as recent past pupils entered to a rapturous welcome, carrying the trophies that symbolize their remarkable achievements.

Former students Adam Daly, Oisín O’Donoghue, Dylan Fogarty, and Jack Quinlan were key members of the Tipperary U20 team that overcame Clare in the Munster final and Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final.

Adam Daly addressed the assembly, speaking with great clarity about the commitment and dedication that led to their success.

He emphasized the importance of participation in extracurricular activities, noting how they had helped him grow both as a player and as a person.

Eoghan Connolly and Oisín O’Donoghue were also instrumental in securing the All-Ireland title.

Principal Mr Brian Moran commended all of the returning players on their outstanding achievements and praised them for serving as inspirational role models for current students.

In his address, Eoghan Connolly reflected on the pride he and his teammates felt in returning to CCS and expressed his best wishes for the future success of the school community.

Co-ordinator of extracurricular activities, Mr Brendan Ryan, highlighted the contributions of each player during their time at CCS and acknowledged their pivotal roles in Tipperary’s recent triumphs. He also underlined the personal qualities that these young men share includinve teamwork, resilience, and determination.

Tipperary GAA Games Master Mr Kevin Halley spoke with pride about the collaborative efforts of clubs and schools across the county, noting how such cooperation continues to propel Tipperary GAA to great heights.

The celebration was further enhanced by outstanding performances of music and song from members of the CCS Music Department, making the occasion one of pride and inspiration for the entire school community.
