The water supply should return to normal this afternoon
Uisce Éireann crews are responding to a plant interruption at the Farranamanagh Water Treatment Plant which is impacting on supply to some customers in Cashel this morning.
Uisce Éireann customers in elevated areas of Cashel, including Spafield, Palmershill, Deerpark, Upper Friar Street and the Dualla Road, may be experiencing reduced water pressure or intermittent supply outages as a consequence of this interruption.
Crews are currently working to restore normal operations at the Farranamanagh Water Treatment Plant. We estimate that repairs will be completed and the plant will be fully operational by 1pm today.
As reservoir levels begin to recover, supply to the affected areas should gradually return to normal throughout the day. Supply may take longer to return for customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
Pierce Faherty, Uisce Éireann Water Operations Manager, said crews will work as quickly as possible to resolve the issue at the plant and restore full supply.
“The interruption to plant operations this morning has caused water levels in the Cashel reservoir to drop, and this in turn is affecting supply to customers in some areas of the town this morning,” said Pierce.
“We acknowledge the frustration that can be caused by unplanned service disruptions and we thank impacted customers for their patience while our crews work to resolve the issue.”
