'To the person who kindly donated to us,' Tipperary charity shop in appeal to public

The Sue Ryder Charity Shop in Clonmel has issued an appeal to donors after a recent incident at the store.

In a post, the shop explained that donations left outside over the weekend had been torn open, dumped in the rain and dirt, and ultimately had to be recycled.

“We’re open six days a week. Please donate within shop open times. It’s terrible on a Sunday for volunteers to have to come out to pick up wet, soiled clothes from in front of the shop — and it’s a loss for the charity,” the message read.

The shop has urged people to drop off donations only during opening hours to ensure they can be used to support the charity’s work.
