Scarlett Faulkner's life support machine is set to be disconnected
THE family of Limerick woman Scarlett Faulkner have shared a devastating update on her condition, confirming that her life support machine is to be disconnected.
Scarlett, 29, from the northside of Limerick city, remains in intensive care after she was violently assaulted at the side of the R494 road in Birdhill on March 21. She was attacked by individuals armed with weapons.
In a new update revealed in a video on social media, Josephine (Joanne) Duffy, the partner of Scarlett's brother Thomas said: "Things are not looking good... On Friday, they're disconnecting Scarlett to her life support machine."
Josephine also made a public appeal for help as the family begins to make urgent funeral arrangements, describing how they are navigating unfamiliar and heartbreaking circumstances.

“The family have never buried anyone ever before,” she said. “ I don't know what I'm asking for. Who do you go to for the big love hearts, the red carpets." She added that the family would like to bury Scarlett in a lilac casket.
Josephine appealed for people to message her or tag businesses who sell caskets and provide coaches and horses for funeral services.
She concluded by thanking everyone for their prayers for Scarlett. "They didn't go unnoticed, and just pray now for peace for Scarlett and justice."
