Tom Long

The death has occurred of Tom Long (Shanbally, Clogheen, Co. Tipperary and formerly of Tullow, Ballybacon) peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his residence. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, daughter Elma, son-in-law John, grandchildren Molly, Mabel and Peig, his brother Michael, sisters Eileen and Patricia, brothers-in-law Pat and Jim, sisters-in-law Nora and Margaret, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. R.I.P.

Reposing at St. Theresa's Hospital, Clogheen, Co. Tipperary (E21 Y447) on Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 12 o' clock in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption Burncourt (E21 W352) followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

 

Family Flowers only please, if desired donations in lieu can be made to the Irish Cancer Society or South Tipperary Hospice Movement.

Nora McNamara
(née O’Mahoney)

The death has occurred of Nora McNamara (nee O’Mahoney) (Fr Sheehy Terrace Clogheen and formerly of Fermoy, Co Cork) peacefully surrounded by her daughter Margaret in the loving care of the staff of Bramleigh Lodge nursing home. Pre-deceased by her loving husband John McNamara. Deeply regretted by her heartbroken daughter Margaret, son John, grandchildren Niamh and Joe (England), sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and friends. R.I.P.

Reposing at St.Theresa's Hospital, Clogheen, Co.Tipperary (E21 Y447) on Monday from 5.30pm. Removal at 6.45pm to St Mary's Church, Clogheen. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 11 o'clock at St Mary's Church, Clogheen followed by burial in Shanrahan cemetery.

 

The McNamara family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Bramleigh Lodge nursing home who gave Nora wonderful care for the last three years

Pierce Murphy

Pierce Murphy, "Owenbeg", Cabra Road, Thurles. December 11th at his home.

 

Predeceased by his parents Pierce and May and infant grand-daughter Amelia.

 

Will be sadly missed by his loving wife Patricia (Patsy), son Brian and his wife Tara, grandchildren Cian, Isabelle and Gracie, sister Mary and her husband Brendan, brother Michael and his wife Mary, sister-in-law Frances, brother-in-law Micheál, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends, his fellow members of the Order of Malta, Thurles Musical Society, Cashel and Emly Lourdes Pilgrimage Helpers, his teacher colleagues and staff and countless past pupils of Thurles CBS Secondary School.

Reposing in Kennedy's Funeral Home (E41 XY 47), Upper Kickham Street, Dublin Road, Thurles on this Tuesday evening from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral cortege will depart Kennedy's Funeral Home on Wednesday morning at 10.15am to arrive in the Cathedral of the Assumption at 10.30am for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St. Patrick's cemetery.

Mary MURPHY
(née O'Dwyer)

Peacefully at Tipperary University Hospital. Mary (in her 94th year), beloved wife of the late Jimmy, sister of the late Michael (Stepaside, Dublin) and Biddy Hayes (Bawnmore), mother-in-law of the late John Fahey and grandmother of the late Daniel McCarthy. Sadly missed by her loving family Maureen, Patricia, Christina, Seamus and Michael, sons-in-law Christy and John, daughters-in-law Deirdre and Liz, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers Billy and Pat, sisters Peggy Kennedy, Kitty Maher and Lizzy Finn, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Devitt’s Funeral Home this Tuesday evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Boherlahan at 11.30am and can be viewed on https://churchcamlive.ie/boherlahan-dualla-parish/ followed by Burial in Ardmayle Cemetery. 

Kathleen Tierney
(née Quigley)

Kathleen Tierney, (nee Quigley), Clare Street, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and formerly of McDonagh Street, died peacefully, at Nenagh Hospital, on 13th December 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

 

Predeceased by her parents Kathleen and James Quigley and her sisters Moira, Carmel, Phil, Josie and Ann.

 

Kathleen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her loving family, husband Tony, children Carol (Hogan), John, Louise (Walker), Sinéad (Tierney-Morrissey), Gail (Newman) and Niamh (Manley), her brother Noel, her much loved grandchildren Conor, Darragh, Orlaith, Cara, Jack, Tom, Max, Katie, Ben, Daniel, Caoimhe and Naoise and great-grandson Luke, daughter-in-law Aoife, sons-in-law Bob, John, Howard, Jason and John, brother-in-law Ned, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

 

Reposing on Monday December 15th at Ryan's Funeral Home, Neneagh (E45 KN93), from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral arriving on Tuesday to St. Mary of the Rosary Church, Nenagh (E45 YH29), for Funeral Mass at 11 am, followed by burial in Lisboney New Cemetery. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care that Kathleen received from all the staff of Nenagh Hospital, St. Conlon's Home, her G.P. Dr. Brian Kennedy and his staff, Nenagh Day Care Centre and her Home Help Carers.

James (Jim) Webster, Cloughmartin, Thurles and formerly Clashduff, Coalbrook, Thurles, Co. Tipperary. Unexpectedly, in the wonderful care of the staff of Tipperary University Hospital. Predeceased by his parents George and Bridget, brother Joseph, parents-in-law Larry and Nellie (Hickey), brother-in-law Michael. Deeply regretted by his loving family; wife Anne (née Hickey), daughter Marie (Clifford), son George, grandsons James and Shane, son-in-law Darren, daughter-in-law Annmarie, sisters Ann, Mary, Patricia and Alice, brothers John, Christy and Connie, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Hugh Ryan's Funeral Home, Slievenamon Road, Thurles on Monday 15th December from 5pm to 7pm. Arriving at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles on Tuesday 16th December at 10.30am for Requiem Mass at 11am. Followed by cremation service in Shannon Crematorium at 4pm.
