Voter turnout in Carrick-on-Suir LEA in the local and European elections is expected to be similar to the turnout of about 58% recorded in the 2019 elections in this geographically large electoral area stretching from Carrick-on-Suir town to Ballinure near Thurles.
Two polling stations in the five-seater Carrick-on-Suir LEA where The Nationalist checked turnout close to or at the close of polling at 10pm tonight (Friday, June 97) reported voter turnout ranging from 57% to 60%.
The Carrickbeg Community Centre polling station in Carrick-on-Suir reported a turnout of 57%.
This two-booth polling station based in the Carrickbeg neighbourhood of Carrick-on-Suir, the largest urban area in Carrick-on-Suir LEA, has an electorate of 1,163.
The rural Ballyneale National School polling station, located in Ballyneale village about 6km from Carrick-on-Suir, experienced a late influx of voters near the close of polling. Voter turnout was reported to be 60% just before the polling station closed. This single booth polling station has an electorate of 434 voters.
The average voter turnout between the two polling stations was 58.5%. It must be noted the small number of polling stations and booths sampled means this figure is just an informal indicator of voter turnout in Carrick LEA rather than anything more definitive.
The official voter turnout in the Carrick LEA election in 2019 was 58.63%.
