Ursuline, Thurles reach the All-Ireland final
The wins keep on coming for schools across Tipperary on the camogie front as St Joseph's Borrisoleigh and Our Ladys Templemore already tasted success and today, the Ursuline Convent, Thurles kept the flag flying with a strong finish to beat Presentation Athenry 3-11 to 2-7 at the MoycarkeyBorris GAA grounds in Littleton this afternoon.
Two first half goals for the Tipperary side - from Sarah Corcoran and Caoimhe Stakelum - edged their opponents slightly at the break on a scoreline of Ursuline Thurles 2-05 Presentation Athenry 2-04.
In the second half the defence came up trumps and held the Galway side to just three points while another goal for the Ursuline sealed the victory.
Key points from Lucy Purcell, Danielle Ryan and Caoimhe Stakelum ensured the Ursuline stayed in the driving seat throughout the match. The result, following on from provincial success, sends the school into the final of the All Ireland Senior A Schools Camogie competition.
