GAA Guide: All-Ireland quarter-finals and Minor hurling final take centre stage this weekend

It’s quarter-final weekend in the GAA football All-Ireland championships, with four fascinating contests on the schedule alongside the All-Ireland minor hurling final on Saturday.

Ulster will have three representatives, Armagh, Donegal, Derry; Connacht (Galway, Roscommon) and Leinster (Dublin, Louth) two each, while Kerry will fly Munster’s flag. 

Armagh and Roscommon go head-to-head in the curtain raiser at Croke Park on Saturday, followed by All-Ireland champions Dublin’s clash with Galway.

Nowlan Park in Kilkenny hosts the All-Ireland minor hurling final with Kilkenny taking on Tipperary in a highly anticipated finale at 5.30pm.

Jim McGuinness’ Donegal are hotly-tipped favourites against Louth in what will be the counties’ first-ever championship meeting. Kerry will take on a high-flying Derry side who are fresh off the back of their dramatic penalty shootout victory over Mayo last weekend. 

The Donegal v Louth clash ensures that at least one team who were in Division 2 this year will reach the semi-finals. And there could be a second as Armagh, who were also in Division 2, take on Roscommon.
