UPPERCHURCH DROMBANE
PREMIER INTERMEDIATE HURLING: We were defeated by Carrick Swans in the first round of the county championship last weekend. Despite having a lot of possession in the first half we didn't make it count on the scoreboard and clinical accuracy from Swans in the second half was enough to give them a 2 point win. We now re-focus for the second group game against Silvermines on the weekend of Aug 10th.
INTERMEDIATE HURLING: We were also beaten in the first round of the intermediate championship by Knockavilla Kickhams.
A second quarter burst from Kickhams built a big enough gap which they were able to maintain to the final whistle. The next group game will be against Carrick Davins.

We opened the scoring when John McGrath pointed his first free and from there to the finish we were always in control. Ladies football: The ladies team played Templemore in round 2 of the championship on Thursday evening and playing into a very strong breeze and with some of our panel involved with Tipp Camogie, we found it hard to get out of our own half during the first 30 minutes.
The second half was a much improved effort with our defence in particular putting in a massive shift to keep Templemore to just points.
Every single player tried their very best against a Templemore squad which was close to full strength.
