Brian Borus produced a stunning second half turnaround to capture the Tipperary Ladies Football Camida Senior A County Championship on Saturday afternoon at Golden, overturning a five-point half-time deficit to defeat Fethard in a thrilling and hard-fought final.
After a first half in which they managed just a single point, Brian Borus stormed back into contention after the break, scoring an unanswered 3-2 in an eight-minute spell that completely turned the game on its head.
From there, they showed composure, control and defensive discipline to hold off a late Fethard fightback and lift the county title in style.

Fethard started brightly and dominated much of the opening period. Heather Spillane opened the scoring with a free inside 90 seconds before Muireann O’Connell doubled the advantage with a fine point from play.
The South Tipp side then struck for the game’s opening goal in the fourth minute when Lucy Spillane finished neatly after a surging attack, giving Fethard an early 1-2 to 0-0 lead.

Brian Borus struggled to find their scoring range, missing several chances while Fethard continued to press.
Aoibhinn Casey finally got Borus off the mark in the 20th minute, but Heather Spillane restored her side’s five-point cushion with another free.
Fethard had a golden chance to extend their lead just before half- time when they were awarded a penalty, but Lucy Spillane’s powerful effort flew wide. They still went into the break leading 1-3 to 0-1, and seemingly in full control.
Whatever was said in the Brian Borus dressing room at the interval had an immediate effect.
Within three minutes of the restart, Sarah English pointed from play before blasting home a brilliant goal to spark their comeback.
Moments later, Aoibhinn Casey found the net with a composed finish to suddenly put Borus in front.
Fethard briefly steadied through Niamh Hayes, but Borus were now relentless. On ten minutes, Shona Lang added a third goal to stretch the lead further, with English following up with another point from play and a free to give her side a six-point cushion heading into the closing stages.
Fethard, to their credit, battled to the final whistle.
Late points from Heather Spillane, Faye Lavin and Carrie Davey reduced the deficit, but the early second half surge proved decisive, as Brian Borus held firm to claim a famous victory.
