The Tipperary TD retains his seat with 10,593 votes

BREAKING: Mattie McGrath elected to Tipperary South on second count

Mattie McGrath has been re-elected to the Dáil for the fifth time in a row.

The Tipperary TD managed to retain his seat after securing 10,593 votes after the second count in Thurles.

McGrath's surplus of 322 will now be distributed amongst the other candidates.

Michael 'Chicken' Brennan's 1,970 votes will also be distributed following his elimination

The quota was 10,270.
