Local Link Tipperary has just commenced a new DRT (door-to-door) bus service two days a week serving the Cahir area.
This is currently being rolled out as a temporary service which runs on Tuesday and Friday of each week.
Cllr Máirín McGrath said: "It will be departing the Newcastle Area at 9:15am with the intention of getting into Cahir for or before 10:30am depending on the number of passengers travelling.
"It'll return from Cahir departing at 1:30pm. The bus has a limited capacity of 16 seats.
"In order to secure a spot on the bus, you must pre-book the day before by calling the Local Link Tipperary office on 052-616-6140. This is the same as all our other DRT services.
"This service will be available to all members of the public however it will be reviewed monthly so it is important any interested parties would take part in the service from an early stage.
"Should the interest of the Cahir area bus service be high, it is hoped that it will be made a permanent route.
"This is a brilliant service that not only will connect our villages to Cahir but also our villages to each other.
"The door-to-door service will enable members of our communities to travel right from their own front door to their doctors appointments etc!"
