Speeding traffic means this scenic area of Tipperary has been compared to Mondello Park

A decision on additional ramps on the road could be made following an assessment, District Engineer Roger Noonan has stated

Going through Marlfield village near Clonmel is “a bit like Mondello Park” and is very dangerous because of speeding traffic, Cllr Siobhán Ambrose has stated.

At a meeting of Clonmel Borough District, she requested that additional ramps would be inserted on the road on either side of the house at the bend as motorists left the village, and also on Moore’s Road.

In his report to the meeting, District Engineer Roger Noonan said that while Active Travel works (footpath widening from Marlfield village to the Pond Road) were planned for Marlfield village last year, these works were not carried out, as the works would have impeded traffic flow.

A decision on additional ramps could be made following an assessment, the District Engineer added.
