Tipperary County Council announce important dates for commercial rate payers

Tipperary County Council is hosting drop-in clinics for those interested in the Early Payment Scheme all next week.

Customers are invited to attend a clinic in their municipal district building from Monday, February 20.

The Early Repayment scheme offers a discount to commercial rate payers who pay up to €26,000 annually if they pay their rates before July 31.

The discount is 6% up to a maximum of €600.

Those in arrears may also avail of the scheme if they (a) pay a minimum amount, which is equivalent to the annual rates by the same timelines outlined above and (b) enter into a structured payment plan.

At this week's sitting of Tipperary County Council, Head of Finance and Information Technology
Finance, Information Technology, Motor Taxation and Shared Services, Liam McCarthy said:

"We are encouraging people who are in arrears to come and engage with us."

County Cathaoirleach Rodger Kennedy said the scheme can help offest some of the recent increases. 

The clinic timetable is as follows:

Monday- Tipperary-Cahir-Cashel - 10am - 12pm - Rosanna Street, Tipperary Town.

Tuesday-Thurles-Templemore- 10am - 12pm -Castle Avenue, Thurles.

Wednesday- Nenagh- 10am - 12pm - Limerick Road.

Thursday- Carrick-on-Suir- 10am-12pm- New Street, Carrick-On-Suir.

Friday- Clonmel- 10am- 12pm - Emmet Street, Clonmel.
