Presentation Thurles Fifth-Years fundraise on Daffodil Day

Daffodil Day 2023 took place on Friday, March 24. A team of our fifth-year students took on the challenge of “taking back from cancer”.

They organised a number of highly successful events throughout the day, including a coffee morning for our senior students and a bake sale for our junior students.

Fresh daffodils and pins were sold over the course of the week, and the school community was also given the opportunity to honour their loved ones who have been affected by cancer on our memory tree.

Thanks to the generosity of our students and staff, over €2,000 has been raised to date for this worthy cause, and donations continue to be received.

The events on the day were facilitated and organised by Ms Margaret Finn, her team leaders: Kate O’Hora, Olga Maher, Jara Berrera, Jane Brereton and Kyla Dempsey and all of their hard-working fifth -year volunteers.

These brilliant acts of selflessness gave a huge source of enjoyment and self-satisfaction to all of our volunteers involved.

Well done, ladies. We are very proud of each and every one of you.
